Privacy policies and practices are a pretty big deal these days. Just ask Facebook about the Cambridge Analytica scandal. “Oops, sorry” just doesn’t quite cut it.
Thing is, you don’t have to be as big as Facebook, or have as many customers, for privacy to matter.
People are more possessive of their privacy than ever and will not hesitate to show businesses their displeasure when they feel like their privacy has been abused.
Whether you are just a small mom & pop plumbing business or run a chiropractic clinic, you will undoubtedly have a bunch of sensitive customer data on your hands. And when they’re in your hands, it’s your responsibility to safeguard them and use them properly.
Privacy screwups can cost you big. People are more possessive of their privacy than ever and will not hesitate to show businesses their displeasure when they feel like their privacy has been abused. Bad marketing practices or badly written privacy policies can get you in trouble with the FTC, California AG, or GDPR (ie the European Union), or can even get you banned from advertising on Google or Facebook.
Privacy policies aren’t something to be trifled with in the digital age. You absolutely cannot afford not to make sure your policies are done right AND that your business (and your employees) complies with them all the time.
If you need help putting together good privacy policies or even training your employees, I can help.
Examples of what I can do include:

- Advising on the privacy policies required by terms of us of the various digital marketing and social media platforms
- Auditing your entire marketing platform for GDPR or California privacy law compliance
